News list

September 19th is the saddest day in Great Britain: Queen Elizabeth’s funeral is scheduled on Monday. This event makes Monday a day off for the whole country. The London exchange, just as all the other financial institutions, is going to be closed and will process no trading operations.

The day off itself may have an impact on the market, we are expected to have higher volatility of GBP-related assets.

Also, some analysts believe that the unplanned holiday may have a negative impact on the ongoing economic recession in the foggy islands. The forced outage will most likely lower the country’s GDP and reduce people's purchasing power. The already unfavourable situation in the UK may get worse due to the overall depressed state after the monarch’s demise.
