Interpol is in crypto now, Bitcoin gets what it deserves, Butering plays a visionnaire - read in the new crypto-news digest by LH-Crypto.

Interpol to Guard Crypto

More and more countries are trying to regulate the crypto world. So it is only natural that Interpol has launched a special division to fight crypto crime.

It was announced by Jürgen Stock, General Secretary of the International Organisation, at the anniversary 90th Assembly of Interpol on 18 October. The new division will be based in Singapore which is famous for its success in developing IT technologies as well as extremely strict laws and punishment.

Crypto Interpol will follow the crimes related to digital assets and will work on the legal framework for cryptocurrencies. Interpol has already been involved in investigating crypto-related crimes; for instance, it is now searching for the lost founder of the notorious Luna, Do Kwon.

Bitcoin Beats the Records

Finally, the world's most popular cryptocurrency has got its place in the Guinness Book. Bitcoin has taken up three spots: as the Oldest, First Decentralised, and the Most Expensive Crypto. It gained its record highs this March when BTC reached 42,9 USD per unit.

But not all of the people on Earth can use the coveted Bitcoin. For instance, a UK court banned Curtis Warren, 59, from using crypto for the rest of his life. This person is quite well-known in Interpol, as he was one of the most wanted criminals in this organisation.

He has served several prison terms for drug distribution, illegal possession of guns, and even murder. He's also one of the criminals with the highest income with his weekly 17 mln USD on his best days. And now, when the "British Pablo Escobar", as the press calls him, is soon to be freed from the prison, he gets another strike from the UK judicial system. We don't know if he was too upset about being banned from using crypto, but apparently, he'll have to find other ways to enter the world of crypto.

Buterin Against Censorship

The Ethereum co-founder spoke against blocking transactions that are against the Ethereum validators' moral views. Vitalik described it as censorship, and he is strongly against "turning Ethereum into a morality police".

We can only guess which transactions and validators' beliefs Buterin had in mind, but we strongly support his ideas on censorship in the Ethereum network in particular and in the crypto industry in general. However, some people think that censorship is already present in the ETH blockchain.

There is a word that over half of the system's blocks are built by so-called MEV-Boost "compatible with the US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)'s standards." And therefore this MEV-Boost does not process the transactions it has suspicions about, for instance, from Tornado Cash.
