Canaccord study: Bitcoin decentralization grows

Financial company Canaccord Genuity Group conducted a bitcoin network hashrate study. It was found that now no pool controls more than 20% of coin mining. At the same time, two of them, Antpool and ViaBTC, belong to the same company - Bitmain. But the total extraction of assets here does not exceed 27%.

Experts remind that back in 2014, the GHash.io pool controlled more than 50% of the bitcoin network hashrate. This made the coin vulnerable to “attack 51”. At the same time, the Canaccord study reports that even now up to 60% of mining capacity is concentrated in China. This raises the question of the risks to the system of possible solutions at the state level.

For the time being, only residents of Sweden, Norway and Denmark have access to the service. It takes less than one minute to purchase, and funds can be transferred through a plastic card or an electronic payment system.

However, Safello notes that these features are only available for the Opera mobile app on the Android system. For users of the desktop browser versions, buying Ethereum from the Opera browser is not yet available.
